| Objective:Guided by tutor Du Xiu Lan ,the decoction Gu Bi is made up of h erbs of removing blood stasis and freeing vessel,of resolving the hard mass ,and ofnourishing liver and kidney. Its clinical effect of treating knee joint osteoarthritis was observed and its mechanism was explored.Methods:50 cases were randomly di vided into two groups.The treatment groups(25 cases) were given decoction of Gu Bi,while the control group(25 cases) were given proprietary of Gu Zhi Zeng ShengWan.The course of treatment was six weeks.To observe the clinical curative effect of treatment group and control group,clinical manifestations were given marks.Resul t:In treatment group ,the controlled and remarkable effective rate is 64% and the to tally effective rate is 92%.While in the controlled group , the controlled and remar kable effective rate is 20% and the totally effective rate is 64%.There is a significa nt difference between the treatment group and the control group (P<0.05).Besides,th e treatment group is superior to the control group in improving symptoms and relie ving pains of TCM. Conclusion: The basic pathogenesis of OA is blood stasis andmuscle blockage ang deficiency of liver and kidney. It is proved that removing blo od stasis and freeing vessel, resolving the hard mass ,and nourishing liver and kidn ey is a effective main therapeutic method in treating Knee Joint Osteoarthristis.
