A Clinical Study On Treating Nerve-Root Cervical Spondylosis With Abdomen-Acupuncture

Cervical Spondylopathy(CS) is caused by the degenerative and prolapsed cervical intervertebral discs and the small malposed cervical joints, which directly stimulating or compressing cervical spinal nerves, vertebral artery and spinal dural capsule .bringing on complicated clinical presentations. The pathogeny of CS is not confirmed presently. It is caused by "qi" deficiency or the maladjustment of "qi" and blood in the theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and it is caused by "mechanical oppression", " inflammatory stimulation" and "immunoreactions" in the theory of Western Medicine.Nerve-root CS is the most common style of CS, the primary symptoms of which are neck, shoulder , back pain, and upper limb numbness or radioactive pain. The unsurgery treatment of nerve-root CS consist of cervical traction, herbal medicine, acupuncture, massage, physical therapy,etc.Abdomen-acupuncture treatment is established by the professor Bo Zhiyun on his long term clinical practice. The abdomen-acupuncture treatment, acting on the meridian system which has the acupoint "Shenque" as the center, can stimulate the circulation of blood and adjust pertinence equilibrium, moreover it also has the advantages of normal prescription and accurate location.Objective: Observe the effect of abdomen-acupuncture on nerve-root cervical spondylosis(CS).
