Objectives:1. To research spleen deficiency, its different sub-clinical forms, symptoms and distribution characteristics; to increase knowledge about spleen deficiency, clinical signs and symptoms and their roles; to increase knowledge on spleen deficiency analysis and diagnosis and to progress spleen deficiency diagnosis and treatment following scientific principles.2. Through many test range observations pursue deep analysis of sub-clinical forms and test range relations, to find out how the test range relations reflect the different sub-clinical form characteristics.Method:Firstly to design the spleen deficiency four examination methods and the testdata registry table according to the inclusion criteria for each patient. Whencollecting four examination method data at the first consultation accordingto standard principles, diagnosis and analysis of signs and symptoms. Thisallowed decisions about the categorization for the required form ofTraditional Chinese Medicine diagnosis. Concurrent collection of the fourexamination method data to check the test ranges in the laboratory setting(activated salivary amylase ratio, xylose clearance rate and activated serumpancrease).Toward spleen deficiency group patients with activated salivary amylase ratioand xylose clearance rate, lower and non-lower sub-groups were divided intospleen deficiency Type 1, Type 2, Type 3, and Type 4. Each type has a standard:decreased activated salivary amylase ratio is Type 1; decreased xyloseclearance rate is Type 2; if both are decreased - Type 3; and, if both donot decrease - Type 4.Using statistical methods to analyse the findings from spleen deficiencypatients for examination and laboratory data; to explain spleen deficiencysub-clinical forms, symptoms, distribution characteristics and laboratorytest ranges in relation to patient symptoms. All the quantitative data are represented by means and standard deviations. The comparative mean between two groups used the independent sample t test...
