1.Objective An investigation was conducted to explore the relation between Chinese medicinesymptom and hematology index, and particularly the discussions were made to understandthe variation in microscopic index as some Chinese medicine symptoms surface. Theresearch tried to find some evidence of the disease by Chinese medicine prior to theinspection of the modern medicine. It was expected that the clinical work could benefit fromthis research and give some ways to prevent the common disease of old people.2.Method The healthy old people was observed by the clinicians and some data and information, such as symptom, sex, age, weight, cruor, were collected systematically. Then the data andinformation was statistically analyzed to get some conclusions.3.Results The main and important results obtained can be summarized as the followings. Thepossibility of symptoms from high to low in old persons is ordered as deficiency of the vitalenergy, sludging of the blood, air or oxygen hysteresis, phlegm dampness, deficiency of yin, wind phlegm, blood deficiency, deficiency of yang. The statistic results of 10-year-oldinterval showed that the proportion of deficiency symptom increases, while the proportion ofexcessive example reduces as age increases. Most old persons had the symptom of the vitalenergy deficiency. Sludging of the blood was common to the male while deficiency of yin tothe female. The symptom of phlegm dampness often occurred to the overweight ones, whilethe deficiency of yin to the emaciated ones. The exterior hemogram of the deficiencysymptom was lower than the excessive examples. For deficiency symptom, the amount ofthe red blood cells and hemoglobin increased in a sequence: the deficiency of blood, deficiency of qi, deficiency of yin, deficiency of yang. The amount of blood plateletincreased in a sequence: the deficiency of blood, deficiency of yin, deficiency of yin, deficiency of yang, while for the excessive symptoms it increased in a sequence: deficiencyof the vital energy, sludging of blood, wind phlegm, phlegm dampness. The time of bloodcoagulation of every symptom has little difference and was shorter than the healthy. For thesymptom of deficiency of qi, the sludging of blood, zymogen time of blood coagulation andsome blood coagulation and live enzyme time have the tendency to shorten. The amount offibrinogen was more than the other symptoms.4.Conclusions The deficiency symptoms of old persons mainly include the deficiency of qi, thedeficiency of yin, the deficiency of blood, while the excessive symptom mainly includesludging of blood and stagnation of qi. The overweight ones often suffered by the deficiencysymptom and phlegm, while the emaciated ones often suffered by the deficiency of yin and4 160 例老龄人中医证候与血液学指标相关性研究blood. The portion of deficiency symptom increased with the age. The most possiblesymptoms are deficiency of qi and the sludging of blood. The exterior hemogram of thedeficiency symptom especially the blood deficiency waslower than the excessive examples. The hemograms of deficiency of yin and qi were a little higher than the blood deficiency. Inthe excessive symptom the hemograms of sludging of blood and stagnation of qi were higherthan the others. There was not anything wrong with the cruor of the old persons butdifferences exist between different symptoms. The time of emorrhage, time of bloodcoagulation, zymogen time of blood coagulation and some blood coagulation and liveenzyme time shortened while the amount of fibrinogen increased in the stagnation of qi andsludging of blood. In the modern medicine, it is important for the old persons to keep thecomponent of the blood to resist the disease and protect the viscera, to eliminate thecondensation of the blood to avoid the heart and brain disease. It was firstly approved by this research that some evidence of the disease, which i...
