| Objective: To investigate the protective effects of Qing Re Huo Yu Granule (QRHXG)on the nerves of patients with acute cerebral infarction and discuss its mechanism.Methods: 60 patients with acute cerebral infarction were randomly divided into two group. 30 cases (treating group) were treated with QRHXG, and 30 cases(control group) treated with Yi Lao Fu Jian Granule (YLFJG). Two groups were treated for 28 days as a course. The serum levels of IL-1 (5 and ICAM-1 were measured by euzyme-linked immanosorbent assay(ELISA) before treatment and 28 days after treatment respectively. At the same time, all cases were evaluated by the standards of evaluating neurological functions and some related blood parameters were examined before treatment and 28 days after treatment.Results; Compared with the control group, the levels of IL-1β and ICAM-1 inserum were significantly lower in the treatment group(P<0.05). The scores of evaluating neurological function were significantly higher (P<0.05), and the blood parameters were significantly lower in the treatment group after treatment.Conclusion QRHXG is a campound prescription of Chinese drugs, it can eliminate inflammation by decreasing the levels of IL-1β and ICAM-1 in Patients'blood, improve neurological functions of patients with cerebral infarction, and change some blood parameters. Thereby, QRHXG has a proectve neurological fuuction.
