Cervical spondylosis is a common clinical disease. It has many types, such as sympathetic cervical spondylosis, cervical spondylotic myelopathy, cervical Spondylosis of vertebral artery type. Cervical spondylosis of nerve root type is the most seen type.cervical spondylosis is belongs to obstruction symptom of traditional Chinese medicine. It is due to disorder of YING,WEI,QI and blood of body, and wind, cold, dump or hurt, fatigue. All the reasons cause channels obstructing, Qi stagnating, blood stasis, tendons spasm, muscles conglutinating, and make the liver and kidney enervating, Qi and blood weaken, the functions of the internal organs inordinating. The discusses about cervicalspondylopathy of nerve root type are in the articles of obstruction symptom, flacid paralysis symptom and pain of neck and shoulder. The reasons of this disease are pathogenic factors prevailing and vital energy undermining. The former means injury, Qi stagnation, blood stasis, external noxious factors invading. The latter is deficiency of liver and kidney. Both factors influence body each other.Objiective:To analysis the pathogenic mechanism of cervical spondylosis of nerve root type and find mechanism and clinical effect of smallscalpeltherapy. Methods: Review 52cases who have suffered from cervical spondylosis of nerve root type. The patients' age ranges from 39 to 64. The longest course is 15 years and the shortest course is half a year, with average of 6 years. We have used random and contrast grouping method, and have divided patients to 2 groups. In the 1nd group, we have treated 32 patients by using traction and small needle scalpeltherapy. Among them, there are 14 males and 18 females. In the 2nd group, there are 20 patients who have been treated by traction. Among them, there are 10 males and 10 females. We have observed the three main symptoms of cervical spondylosis of nerve root type, which are the pain of neck and shoulder, scope of movement of neck, the numbness of arm and hand. Then we Judge the effect by change of patients' symptom. Results: In the 1nd group, fullyrecover 11 cases, significant effective 11 cases, effective 8 cases, ineffective 2 cases. In the 2nd group, fully recover 3 cases, significant effective 5 cases, effective 9 cases, ineffective 3 cases. Contrasting 2 groups,we have used rigid statistics analysis, p<0.05. Smallscalpeltherapy has a significant effect to cervicalspondylosis of nerve root type, especially for enlarging the scope of the movement of neck. Conclusion: The pathogenic mechanism of cervical spondylosis of nerve root type is caused by dynamic disbalance of neck, and pressing and stimulating to the cervical nerve root. The mechanism of smallscalpeltherapy is as follows. For one thing, smallscalpeltherapy can reset the balancr of cervical bio mechanics. For another, it may relieve the pressure and stimulation of the cervical nerve root. The last, it promote smooth circulation of blood, vital energy, channels and collaterals.
