Chinese Medicine Epidural Injection With Manipulation And Traction Of The Nerve Root Type Cervical Spondylosis

Objective: To observe fore-and-aft clinical treatment of epidural injection with manipulation coordinating with traction for the treatment of cervical nerve root disease patients, then provide the basis for the establishing safe and effective method of regulating the operation in order to better use.Methods: The type of cervical nerve roots in patients with 50 cases, all from the out-patient and in-patient hospital. 20 cases of male, female 30 cases. Age 28 to 77 years old, duration from 6 months to 20 years. Traditional Chinese Medicine Mailuoning injection, plus 2% lidocaine and 5% sodium bicarbonate injection prepared 10 to 15 ml by 1:1:1 ratio for epidural injection. The doctor determined puncture intervertebral space, according to patients with symptoms and signs of cervical and is lateral X-ray, then did epidural injection. After the injection, the doctor did the downlink supine traction rotation of the entire complex with the help of assistants. Generally one treatment a weekly, four times for a course of treatment. Used nerve root type symptoms and signs of cervical disease score (Refer Sampath, Prakash MD Clinical Evaluation of cervical disease), to observate of patients symptoms's change fore-and-aft treatment. Let patients from their own points, according visual analog score (VAS), then take the record the data for statistical analysis.Results: 50 patients's symptoms and signs have been significantly improved after epidural injection treatment. Statistics show that, fore-and-aft treatment scores significantly improved accroding graded approach: before treatment xˉ±s is 17.08±5.02, after treatment xˉ±s is 5.54±3.15 The paired"t"test was significant difference P < 0.05. Statistical analysis showed that score symptoms and signs of improvement rate more than 80% is 17 cases (34%), 65% to 80% is 18 cases (36%) at 50% to 65% is 14 cases (24%), less than 50% is 3 cases (6%). Excellent clinical efficacy rate is 70%, and the total efficiency is 94%. Patients mark painful degree by themselves accroding the VAS pain, the results has significant statistical significance through the paired"t"test P < 0.05.of with VAS score was the same as signs and symptoms score results.Conclusion: Epidural injection with Chinese medicine coordinating with traction can cure cervical nerve root type of cervical spondylosis disease, and have a good treatment. It's one of the effective methods for the treatment of cervical nerve root. The method is rapid efficacy and effectiveness, suffering small, low-cost, it is worth to make more widespead clinical use.
