| "Su Wen Xuan Ji Yuan Bing Shi" (brief name "Yuan Bing Shi")is one of the representative works of Liu Wansu who is a famous doctor in Jin Dynasty. The thesis is written in documentary direction and mainly analyses in the general situation of Liu Wan su's works and the background and origin about composing "Yuan Bing Shi". It also makes a probe into the edition, scholastic attainments, influence to the descendents and shortcoming of "Yuan Bing Shi".From textual research in Liu Wansu's works and other datum,he is consided born early in 1126 and died during 1196 and 1200 or later. The background of "Yuan Bing Shi" is closely associated with the social and medical elements. The reason for writing this book is in three respects .'First, to develop the thought of "Nei Jing". Secondly,the influence of "Yun Qi" theory. Finally,to develop the "Shang Han"theory. The editions of "Yuan Bing Shi" are many and unsystematic. By means of collating,the main editions of "Yuan Bing Shi"are offprint and library editions. In all of the editions,the original edition,Wu Mianxue's book is the best. The scholastic attainments of "Yuan Bing Shi" including three parts: 1. interpreting "Yun Qi" theory; 2.the development of pathogenesises; 3. about diagnosing and medical treatment.Liu Wansu created a precedent for the argument of medical theories in Jin and Yuan Dynasty. So he had many students and his works has great influence upon the decedents. Oweing to the limit of historical age,errors can't be avoided in "Yuan Bing Shi",the thesis has also made a probe in it.
