Objective In order to set up intervention measures in preventing injuries, we studied the epidemiological feature and influencing factor of injuries in middle school students.Methods A stratified sampling study on the epidemiological feature of injuries during the last one year was conducted among 2135 students from 5 grades in 5 middle schools of Wannan area.Results The results showed that the total rate of injuries was 67.03%, The incidence of junior school students was higher than that of senior ones. The rate of injuries in boys was higher than that in girls. Among which, 5 kinds of injuries took the first 5 place: injuries from falls(39.02%), bumps(37.00%), traffic accidents(30.02%), kmfe-cutting(24.22%), burns and scalds (20.98%). The places where injuries occurred were mainly at home and on compus. Most injuries usually occur during exercising, riding, playing and walking. Self injuries was mostly seen followed with hurt by others. The rate of injuries was related closely to parent's culture background and the statistically significant difference was found between one-child families and multi-child families. Conclusion Some preventive measures were preliminarily suggested.
