The Mechanism Of Shen Disorder In Epilepsy

In the research we reviewed the modern reference and ancient document. Based on all those, we establish that Shen disorder is the major pathogenesis of epilepsy, and the treating principle of epilepsy should be clear the brain and calm the Shen. In the subsequent research, we treated epilepsy patient with Qing-Nao-An-Shen-decoction, then we found it was effective for this disease, so we did some experiment and found some treating mechanism of this decoction. In the clinical research, sixty epilepsy patients were included, and opening self-comparison method was used. As a result, effective rate of treating group was 83.33%, while control group was 70%, there was statistically significant difference between two groups (p<0.05). We concluded that Qing-Nao-An-Shen-decoction had broad-spectrum antiepileptic medication, and it had few side effects. This research provided a new TCM treating method for epilepsy.
