Comparative Studies On Lysozyme And Traditional Chinese Medicine Treating Cow Endometritis

Puerperal endometritis was the most common disease after dairy cattle deliveried. It not only caused great losses to the cattle feeders, but also hindered the production industry of our country. At present, local and systemic application of antibiotics was the most importment method of treatment. The disadvantage was beside the drug residues ,that we had to increase the dose of antibiotic for the drug resistant strain. Lysozyme was one kind of high effiency, low side effect and cheap antibacterial preparation. So, it had special advantage in the treatment of endometritis.In this experiment, To measure the minimal inhibitory concentration of Lysozyme,three groups of traditional Chinese medicine prescription (obtained from orthogonal experiment) and five kinds of common antibiotics againsting E-coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Corynebacterium pyogenes which cause endometritis commonly. Then, selecting one of the prescription which had the best effect as the control group by comparing their antibacterial effect, and applying it in clinical treatment with Lysozyme group, also deciding the proper concerntration and dose in the clinic. Then selecting 12 cow which suffered from acute endometritis postpartum as samples from two dairy farm in harbin city, separating them into two groups, 6 cow each group, treating them with Lysozyme and traditional Chinese medicine separately, both as the method of intrauterine infusion. Afterward, at each 0h,24h,48h,72h post treatment, collecting uterine secretions, testing the concentration of white blood cells, differential blood count, the activity of segmented cell, and the concentration of bacterias. At last, selecting several untreated cow suffering from endometritis, separating them into two groups randomly too. Then, therapying them with the two kinds of medicine in each group. At last, to add up the cure rate. With the comparison of the cure rate, identifying the curative effiency of Lysozyme and Chinese medicine prescription.The experiment results showed that, Lysozyme had a good effect against Gram-positive bacteria; the clinical signs of endometritis rapidly alleviated after treating with Lysozyme and Chinese medicine, inner environment of uterine improved obviously;the cure rate of the third clinical treatment was: Lysozyme group reached69.6% , Chinese traditional medicine group reached 60%.
