Diarrheal disease caused by enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli (ETEC) is by far the most common enteric colibacillosis encountered in neonatal piglets. The orally administered the production of compound chinese herbal medicine immunoglobulins in a dose-dependent fashion against infection with each of the three homologous strains of E.coli in passive immunization trails with a colostrum-deprived piglet model of enterotoxigenic E.coli diarrhea. The study of bacterostasis in vitro , adhesion assay in vitro, the lever of cell immunity and antibody, and wether it inhibite adherence of enterotoxigenic E.coli in intestinal epithellal surface with an enzyme immunoassay with avidin-biotin complex . In vitro, the production of compound chinese herbal medicine immunoglobulins block the growth of enteropathogenic strains from 0 to 3 hours, whereas after 3 hours, the function of it was become wane, after 5 hours ,the effect was not observed .In adhesion assay ,the E.coli strains adhered equally to pocine duodenal and ileal epithellal cells but failed to do so in the production of compound chinese herbal medicine immunoglobulins with higher titer . The result of study revealed the lever of cell immunity raised with the compound of chinese herbal medicine and immunoglobulins as compared with control piglets (P<0.05) , and the lever of antibody was rised too. it showed that the neonatal piglets achieved passive immunization and themselves immunity was rised. The result of an enzyme immunoassay with avidin-biotin complex demonstrated adherence of enterotoxigenic E.coli in intestinal epithellal surface and the production of compound chinese herbal medicine immunoglobulins with higher titers can inhibite adherence of enterotoxigenic E.coli in intestinal epithellal surface and specific local it activity in target areas of the small intestines. These findings indicated that the production of compound chinese herbal medicine immunoglobulins can cure diarrheal disease caused by Enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli Infection in neonatal piglets.
