Liver injury is caused by various pathogenic factors. It is a common clinical disease that endangers human and animal's health. There are many types of liver injury, in daily life; liver injury caused by chemical substances is also very common. The carbon tetrachloride (CCl4) can induce liver injury. Carbon tetrachloride mainly through the cell membrane lipid per oxidation and free radicals induced liver injury.Traditional medicine, especially Chinese medicine research on liver injury more in-depth, but eventually triturated high efficacy, low side effects of Chinese patent medicines are few. Therefore, the search for new drugs for liver injury caused by various factors in the prevention and treatment is of great significance. It is recorded that the Tibetan medicine Herpetospermum caudigerum seeds are bitter in taste and cold in nature. Its actions include clearing heat from organs, detoxifying, purging the fire, and aiding the digestion. It is indicated for liver heat syndrome, icteric hepatitis infection, etc. However, the mechanism of the Tibetan medicine Herpetospermum caudigerum seeds against liver injury is not clear yet.Thereby, in this study, experiments in vivo on mice with CCl4, which can made acute liver injury model. Researching and anglicizing the mechanism of extracting solution of the Tibetan medicine Herpetospermum caudigerum seeds on acute liver injury.Experimental Methods:The SPF mice were randomly divided into normal group, liver injury group, chloroform extract of the Tibetan medicine Herpetospermum caudigerum seeds of low, medium and high dose group, water extract of the Tibetan medicine Herpetospermum caudigerum seeds of low, medium and high dose group. Comparison of changes in the liver index; measuring aspartate aminotransferase (AST) levels and alanine aminotransferase (ALT) levels in serum; measuring the protein content, glycogen content, Superoxide dismutase (SOD) and Malondialdehyde (MDA) content in liver tissue; H.E staining of liver tissue showed morphological changes; immune staining detected the protein expression changes of Caspase-3 and NF-κB in liver tissue.Experimental results indicated that, to some extent, extracting solution of the Tibetan medicine Herpetospermum caudigerum seeds possess some protective effects on carbon tetrachloride induced acute liver injury in mice, its mechanism has some relations with inhibiting the expression of inflammatory factors, etc. This experiment is the preliminary study of extracting solution of the Tibetan medicine Herpetospermum caudigerum seeds to cure the liver injury, providing an experimental and theoretical basis for further study on treating liver injury to the Tibetan herbal medicines.
