Objective :To explore the status of anxiety in patient with spinal disease before operation and the influence factors of preoperative anxiety. To find the optimal intervene in these patients before spinal operation and lower the level of anxiety.Methods: From Mar 2014 to July 2014, 105 patients with spinal diseases received operations in our department. The status of anxiety in these patients was assessed by general status inventory questionnaire and self-rating anxiety scales(SAS). The relationship between influence factor and status of anxiety were analyzed. SPSS 19.0 were used in statistical analysis.Results: The preoperative anxiety was higher in patients with spinal operation compared with the general population. There were 11 patients(10.48%) with SAS more than 50. Multivariate linear regression analysis showed that the preoperative anxiety had significantly positive relationship with economic status, educational background, medical insurance and personality. It does not have correlation with gender, age, marriage, past diseases and surgery methods.Conclusions :The patients with spinal diseases were in anxiety status at pre-operation. The anxiety was influenced by economic status, education background, medical insurance and personality.
