Professor Jia Haizhong 's Clinical Experience In Diagnosis And Treatment Of Snoring Syndrome

Background:Snoring is a common sleep disorder disease, it can cause damage to many systems of the whole body, and has a close contact with the top ten diseases mortality rate which WHO announced in 2013. Snoring is a common phenomenon in our daily life, so a lot of people do not think it is a kind of disease. The necessary diagnosis and treatment will not be effected till the appearance of daytime sleepiness or cardiovascular disease’s complication. At that time, the snoring has caused serious damage to the human body. In recent years, medicine researchers have gradually realized the harm of snoring, and have carried out extensive research. A lot of domestic scholars use Chinese medicine to treat snoring syndrome, which have achieved good results. Many research shows that TCM of snoring has effective treatment, which is one of the important methods for the snoring treatment.Objective:In the years of clinical work on snoring syndrome, Professor Jia Haizhong has conducted the thorough research, and has his own ideas and experiences on the treatment of snoring. This article aims to summarize the clinical experience of the application of Chinese medicine treatment on snoring syndrome, thus to provide new ideas and methods for the treatment of snoring of traditional Chinese medicine.Methods:Through the literature retrieval of the traditional Chinese medicine related discussions on snoring syndrome and research progress of snoring in Western Medicine, conclude the cognition of snoring’s name, etiology and nosogenesis, syndrome differentiation and treatment, and the Western Medicine understanding on snoring diagnosis, risk factors, complications, treatment. Following professor Jia Haizhong’s outpatient services and summarize clinical cases, concluding tutor’s understanding and treatment methods of snoring syndrome.Results:After generalizing the literature of snoring syndrome, I found that Traditional Chinese Medicine has understanding of snoring long time ago, but ancient doctors regularly treated it as a syndrome of other disease’s pathological process,seldom treated it as a independent disease. The modern doctors have conducted extensive research on snoring syndrome and present different opinions on the etiology and nosogenesis, syndrome differentiation and treatment. There is no unified understanding at present. Western medicine has fully researched snoring syndrome’s risk factors and complications, but there is no clear knowing on the nosogenesis of this disease. At present, the main treatment of snoring syndrome is Continuous Positive Airway Pressure, its effect is significant, but some people can not tolerate this treatment. It needs further research.Professor Jia Haizhong has been engaged in clinical work for many years. Through clinical observation of the snoring syndrome symptoms, unite the study of Traditional Chinese Medicine and West Medicine on snoring syndrome’s nosogenesis and the research of modern pharmacology of traditional Chinese Medicine. He has formed a set of system knowledge of snoring syndrome’s etiology and pathogenesis, syndrome differentiation, treatment. He thinks that lung, spleen, kidney has the most closely relationship with the snoring syndrome. In the process of disease development, phlegm, blood stasis, deficiency of Qi are the key pathological factors. My tutor divided the snoring syndrome into four pattern, as:spleen deficiency phlegm stasis, stomach heat and stagnation of phlegm, phlegm and blood stasis obstruct throat, the deficiency of lung and spleen, qi deficiency and blood stasis. Professor Jia Haizhong works out "Han Chang Yin" prescription. Through identifying the type of syndrome, it can decide the increase or reduce of medication in the treatment of disease.Conclusion:Professor Jia Haizhong applies his knowledge of whole systems of snoring syndrom to treat the patients in clinical, and obtained very good curative effect. Through summarizing Professor Jia Haizhong’s experience of the etiology and pathogenesis, syndrome differentiation and treatment methods of snoring syndrome, this article provides a new idea and method to snoring syndrome’s pathogenesis and treatment based on syndrome differentiation.
