Purpose:Through the observation of clinical curative effect of external using wen yang tong luo fang on the treatment of CIPN, to provide clinical evidence for traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of CIPN.Method:Patients of the clinical study were selected for the period from May 2013 to January 2015 months of Hematology and Oncology Beijing University of Chinese Medicine Dongzhimen hospital outpatient and hospitalized patients.A total of 24 cases were observed, 23 valid cases were entered the statistical analysis. All the subjects in the study soaked their hands and feet with wen yang tong luo fang for 30min, once daily for 14 days. Taking the peripheral nerve poison efficiency, TCM syndrome integral and individual symptom score as observation indexes. Assessing these indexes on the treatment of first day, eighth day and fifteenth day respectively. The part of literature research, through computer retrieval of Beijing University of traditional Chinese medicine of CNKI database——China journal full text database in January 2000 to December 2014 period to obtain the various published medical literature.Screening literature according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria and extracting data for statistical analysis.Result:1.Peripheral nerve toxic effect:on the treatment of eighth day, in 23 cases,3 cases were cured,7 cases were effective, the effective rate was 43.48%, on the fifteenth day,7 cases were cured,12 cases were effective, the effective rate was 82.61%, with statistical significance(P<0.05); articals included in the literature research, the average treatment time was 17 days, the efficiency between the 75.00%-93.50%. Peripheral nerve toxicity efficiency in the clinical study results was similar to the literature research results.2.Effect of TCM syndrome and individual symptoms: ① The TCM syndrome integral:the TCM syndrome score on the first, eighth, fifteenth day were 13.67±3.79,10.76±3.31,8.67 ±3.27 respectively. Comparison of the first and eighth day, with statistical significance(P<0.05),comparison of the eighth and fifteenth day, withno statistical significance(P>0.05),comparison of the first and fifteenth day, with statistical significance(P<0.05).② Effect of TCM syndrome:the effective rate was 39.13% on the treatment of eighth day, the effective rate was 73.91% on the treatment of fifteenth day, with statistical significance(P<0.05).③ The individual symptom score:numbness score, comparison of the first and eighth day, the eighth and fifteenth day, the first and fifteenth day, with statistical significance(P<0.05); tingling score, comparison of the first and eighth day, the eighth and fifteenth day, the first and fifteenth day, with statistical significance(P<0.05); aversion to cold score, comparison of the first and fifteenth day, with statistical significance(P<0.05), comparison of the first and eighth day, the eighth and fifteenth day, withno statistical significance(P>0.05); anorexia score, comparison of the first and eighth day, the eighth and fifteenth day, the first and fifteenth day, withno statistical significance(P>0.05); fatigue score, comparison of the first and eighth day, the eighth and fifteenth day, the first and fifteenth day, withno statistical significance(P>0.05).Conclusion:The external use of wen yang tong luo fang treatment can reduce the peripheral nerve toxicity grading of patients with CIPN in a certain extent, relieve the clinical symptoms and improve the quality of life of patients with CIPN.
