Objective:To explore characteristics of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) clinic presentations in Parkinson’s disease with mood disorders, and the risk factor Syndrome elements to people who suffer from Parkinson’s disease with mood disorders, to provide evidence for differentiation of syndromes and treatments in Chinese Medicine. Methods:The subjects of 49 persons from Dongzhimen Hospital,Beijing Hospital and the third Department of Peking University hospital between October 2014 and February 2015. We were using Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD) and Hamilton Anxiety Scale (HAMA).to evaluate their mood and then divided them into Parkinson’s disease with mood disorders and Parkinson’s disease without mood disorders groups. All groups were scored referring to the pattern element scale in Parkinson’s disease patients (PD-PES-13). The emphasis was to analyze the characteristics and study the risk factor Syndrome elements to people who suffer from Parkinson’s disease with mood disorders. Results:There was no significantly difference on gender, age of onset, educational level, age at entry and course of the disease between the two groups.Scores of element of Qi deficiency in Parkinson’s disease with mood disorders were significantly higher than Parkinson’s disease without mood disorders (P=0.003). Scores of element of hyperactivi ty of yang in Parkinson’s disease with mood disorders were significantly higher than that of Parkinson’s disease without mood disorders(P=0.031).The frequencies of element of Qi deficiency in Parkinson’s disease with mood disorders was significantly higher than Parkinson’s disease without mood dis-orders (P=0.012).Qi deficiency is the risk factors of the onset of Parkinson’s disease with mood disorders. (P=0.0014, B=0.644,OR=4.836)Conclusion:1. The most important characteristics of TCM syndrome elements of Parkinson’s disease is liver wind. Pulp reduction. The primary characteristics of TCM syndrome of Parkinson’s disease with mood are liver wind, Pulp reduction, Qi deficiency,Yin deficiency, hyperactivity of yang, insufficiency of the spleen, internal thermal. The primary characteristics of TCM syndrome elements of Parkinson’s disease without mood are liver wind, Pulp reduction, Yin deficiency, Phlegm turbidity and kidney deficiency.2. The severity of Qi deficiency and hyperactivity of yang in Parkinson’s disease with mood is significantly higher than that of the Parkinson’s disease without mood. The frequencies of Qi deficiency in Parkinson’s disease with mood is significantly higher than that of the Parkinson’s disease without mood.2. Qi deficiency may be the risk factors of the Parkinson’s disease with mood disorders.
