Medical insurance system is the basic security system in a country and it provides medical costs and services for the social members’ health. Since the turn of 21 st century, many medical security problems in China have become prominent, such as ageing population, uneven distribution of regional medical resource, rapid growth of medical fees, etc. As there are many differences between China and the United States in the political system, cultural and social economic background, it is not practical to indiscriminately imitate their reform experience. However, we can analyze how to choose our government policies from the latest American health-care reform according to the situation of China to realize supportability, fairness and efficiency of it. Hope it can provide some help for the reform of medical insurance system in China. Finally, by analyzing the article, it brings enlightenment to the reform of medical insurance system in China and it is necessary for the government to enhance the responsibility power, formulate effective measures with strong operation and expand the coverage of medical insurance and achieve the maximization of welfare economic effect.
