Lavender is originated in the Mediterranean coast, our country introduced from abroad in the1960s. At present, Xinjiang area has become the important growing base of lavender in our country, the planting area of lavender accounts for more than95%of the whole country. Xinjiang is known as one of the three lavender base of the world with Provence and Furano, and has been named as "China lavender town" of the Ministry of Agriculture.Lavender is a natural fragrance plant, in recent years, because of its good commercial value, it has been concerned and researched by many experts and scholars at home and abroad. At present, many varieties of lavender have been cultivated in Yili, Xinjiang. However, the content of the essential oil and chemical composition of the different varieties of lavender have the larger differences and the quality of the essential oils are different, and could not uniform standards. In our country, the production of the essential oil of lavender has more than100,000kg each year. While the lavender essential oil only content about1.5%of the dried lavender. In the production process of the lavender essential oil, a lot of lavender residues has been generated, the residues is all treated as scrap, this manner not only causes a waste of resources, but also produces a potential hazard to the environment. Studies have shown that lavender flowers contained flavonoids and other compounds, if we can extracted such substances from the residues, we could not only solve the problem of residues, but also get good economic benefit at the same time. This paper analyzed and compared the essential oil of different varieties of lavender in Xinjiang aera, and optimized the technical parameters of micro-capsule package of lavender oil withβ-cyclodextrin, we also inquiried the activity of chemical composition from the residue of miscellaneous lavender. The main experiments are as follows:(1) The essential oil from all varieties of lavender were obtained by steam distillation, and the composition and mass fraction of which were tested by gas chromatography (GC) and/mass spectrometry (MS). The content determination showed that the contents of essential oils in miscellaneous flower,Taikong six,Taikong seven, blue and white flower,French-blue were respectively5.6%、3.2%、2.0%、1.8%、1.2%. Component analysis showed that the quality of blue and white was better, and the content of linalool, linalyl acetate, lavandulyl acetate, camphor were32.13%,36.92%,2.28%,0.54%%respectively, up to the national standard; The composition of3spieces were close, including Taikong six, Taikong seven and French-blue. The quality of miscellaneous flower was the worst, which has great distinctions against the national standard.(2) Explored the technical parameters of embedding the lavender oil from the ratio of material, temperature and time. The best technological conditions: β-cyclodextrin:the volatile oil proportion is8:1, the temperature for45℃, the time is2h, the embedding rate is73.28%.(3) Investigated the scavenging rate of hydroxyl radical (·OH-), superoxide antion radical (·O2-), and their reducing abilities of the total flavonoids of lavender residue. The results showed that, the total flavonoids of lavender residue had certain antioxidation activities. At the same time, we separated and purified the crude extracts of dichloromethane and ethyl acetate parts by silica gel column chromatography, and got two pure compounds, they were apigenin and luteolin.(4) The antibacterial activities and tyrosinase inhibition activity of the extracts from miscellaneous lavender residue were studied, which were obtained from four solvents of different polarity:petroleum ether, dichloromethane, ethyl acetate and butyl alcohol. The results showed that, the extracts of miscellaneous lavender residue by four polar fraction had certain antibacterial activities, the diameter of the inhibition zone increased by the concentration of the extracts, the ethyl acetate extracts of1mg/L has the best inhibitory effect on E.coli, the diameter of the inhibition zone was14mm, petroleum ether, ethyl acetate and butanol extracts of lmg/L has the same inhibitory effect on staphylococcus aureus, the diameter of the inhibition zone were all14mm, the butanol extracts of1mg/L has the best inhibitory effect on bacillus subtilis, the diameter of the inhibition zone was16mm, but the four extracts almost had no inhibition to yeast and penicillium. The results of tyrosinase inhibition activity showed that the extracts by four solvents all could inhibit the activity of tyrosinase, the inhibition strengthened by the concentration of sample. Furthermore, the inhibition fuction of butyl alcohol extract was the highest when the concentration was0.8mg/mL, the maximum inhibition rate was65.12%.
