Nowadays, as shipbuilding industry developing fast, the requirement for the mobility of the ship is high, so the requirement for the dynamic performance of the ship motor system is quite high. When the ship is working, its working condition is complexity, the driver will give some unstable operation, such as astern, emergency brake, quick start, abrupt acceleration or deceleration, the ship motor system need bearing substantial impact, especially the shaft of the diesel engine will bear tremendous instant peak value, and it will damage the shaft, so it is necessary to monitor the working condition of torque. Moreover, the functional test of the diesel and fault diagnose need to detect the power of the diesel, and the power calculation need torque measurement, so the torque dynamic monitoring of the shaft is significative. When the shaft is in high speed rotating, if we want to test its torque, the problem is how to gain the data from the rotating shaft. Connecting with wire will not work, we use electric conduction ring ordinary, but the ring will cause rubbing and heating, its operating life is short, and it will cause serious error. To solve the problem, we use radio frequency communication technology, and adopt wireless data transmission way to design a wireless torque detector, it can solve above problem efficient. In this paper, from investigating working condition of diesel shaft, measurement principle and signal of shaft, and its major function in detail, we have designed the detector. In the hardware design, we used the CC2430 chip, it is a 2.4GHz RF system chip which is according with ZigBee technology, it also integrated a 8051 single-chip and A/D transition module, so its peripheral circuit design is simple. We used AD623 chip to design amplified circuit to amplify the signal, and we have designed the amplified circuit, A/D transition circuit, RF transceiving circuit, serial communication circuit, and debugged them. In the software design, we used Keil C51 software to compile A/D transition program, wireless sending and receiving program, serial communication program, and achieved data acquisition function. We also used Visual Studio software to design User Interface, from this, the user can monitor the torque condition in real time, operate it easily, and store the data anytime, which can offer scientific basis in the future study.
