As the rapid development of motor vehicles, leading to energy shortages, high energy prices, increasing congestion in cities, urban environmental degradation, rapid transit system has been internationally recognized as the effective means to solve the above urban transport problems.Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) is a public transport of high quality,high efficiency,low energy consumption,low pollution,low-cost, fully embodied the development concept of people-oriented and harmonious of society.It uses advanced public transport vehicles and high-quality services and facilities, through a dedicated road space to achieve a fast, punctual, comfortable and safe service,but the delay in the signal cross is more prominent when the road travel time, stop time is reducing. In order to fully reflect the BRT service of large capacity, high quality, it is necessary to give priority to BRT buses to reduce BRT delays at signalized intersection,with the changing of transportation decision-making from"Car-oriented"to"People-oriented".At present, the research on the Bus Rapid Transit priority methods and technologies at signal intersection is still relatively small.In this article, discuss the application of various methods at signal intersection,based on the full research of the common bus priority measures and methods,and optimize it.Focuses on the BRT space and time priority method at signalized intersection.For the space priority, explore the setting method of the side road import and middle road import, and the approach to turning traffic. For the time priority, focus on the passive and active priorities method.One priority for the passive priorities,consider the restriction of the signal cycle length,critical saturation and minimum green time, advance improved passive priority signal model based on per capita minimum delay.For the active priorities, consider the restriction of frequency deviation degree of BRT and delay of BRT at signal intersection, advance BRT active priority method based on frequency, and study the control processes that extend and advance of green light.The BRT positioning and detection techniques are also researched in this article. Focus on the GPS positioning technology, RFID location technology and the coil detection technology, research on the operational principle and the application in the BRT priority at signal intersection.Finally, select the typical intersection of Guangzhou BRT to do simulation experiments. Combined with intersection properties, select the passive priority method based on per capita minimum delay,results show that the practical feasibility.
