China's cities and towns are now faced with heavy traffic pressure. In order to actively implement the national strategy of giving priority to develop public transport, cities have taken steps, include setting bus lane in the aspect of space and give bus signal priority in terms of time, to alleviate the urban traffic congestion. However, due to the limitations of hardware facilities and complexity of the traffic rules at this stage, cities can not achieve effective coordination of different transportations' operational modes. Especially in the case tram system was added to the public transport operation, achieving a reasonable distribution of space and time resources will be more difficult. In signal priority control, the tram will bring more time instability. There may even be the time of tram waiting growing and traffic congestion grows at the same time. This case will definitely cause some degree of road resources wasted and will also have the opposite effect in road intersections with limited time resource.This paper relies on Huaian construction projects of tramway and uses tram priority of passing the intersection as the control target. Starting from the angle of easing congestion, improving transit service levels, improving road traffic order and optimizing the structure of traffic, the paper analyzes the control problem of tram priority in intersection through the study of tram priority signal control strategies and methods. At the same time, social vehicles' waiting time at the intersection is also greatly limits the tram and bus to have greater priority.First, in order to solve the problem of time resource's unreasonable allocation and priority strategy improper use at the intersection, the paper is based on fully studies of common bus priority measures and methods and explores tram's space priority and time priority method in signalized intersection. Then, based on time priority, the paper focuses on the minimum average delay control method which means analyzing the information state at the limit of minimum green time, maximum signal cycle length and the critical saturation constraints. In the following study, the GPS positioning technology, RFID positioning technology and induction coil detection principle are illustrated. How to explore its application in the signalized intersection tram priority art is important and the paper get an improved tram optimal signal timing optimization model.Secondly, by assuming the lower intersection saturation and lower tram headway. This paper studies tram priority methods in the case that there is only one phase of the initiative. Considering the current buses often appear late and the signalized intersection vehicle delay is an important reason for delayed impact of the tram, the method of tram's active priority based on the departure frequency comes up. Through the vehicle detector to detect tram vehicle, the article calculates two trams' headway at the same line and uses the tram grid frequency offset degree and delay size at the intersection as a weight to determine whether to give priority to trams.Finally, this paper selects the typical signalized intersection of Huaian tram project and does simulation experiments. Depending on the nature of the intersection, paper selects a signal priority mode of minimum pedestrian average delay. The experimental results show that the tram priority method can effectively complete the intersection of whole line optimization and take tram priority role as feasible example.
