From the perspective of the elderly, this paper research about the renewal theory and methods of the public space in old residential areas. The main objective of the public space renewal in old residential areas is to well take care of the elderly requirements.Firstly start from the subject analysis, on the subject involved in the object and subject for a more in-depth study. The elderly is main users of old residential public space. Through the characteristics and needs of the elderly analysis summarized the basic features of public space which used for the elderly.
