| The human economic activity unceasingly creates the value of civilization. The environmental issue caused by the natural dependence and destruction of mankind restricts their natural uses and transformation process. The hot spot of the public attention is such social problems as the serious pollution, shortage of resources, traffic jam, population inflation, house price rise, security risk and so on, due to the environment question during the process of the urbanized acceleration. People reconsider whether the city is the ideal paradise to live in. How to reduce the pressure of the "urban sickness" on the aspects of economy, society, resources, and environment? The concept of human settlements has been gradually transformed from the ideal pattern studied by the scholar to the practice of the urban construction. The mode of "people-oriented" as the core is improving people's life and working conditions, building the natural ecological system, realizing the coordinated trinity of society, economy, and environment, and adhering to the route of sustainable development. All these will undoubtedly provide the reference models and basis for the scientific decision-making for the urban construction and management. Therefore, it is not only of the necessity of theoretical development but also of guiding significance in reality to deepen the theory for livable human settlements and explore the empirical research.The thesis mainly aims to not only clarify the basic theory of Human Settlements and research results on the empirical research about livable assessments, but also summarize the status quo of research and existing problems in the field. It attempts to use the existing theory and evaluation index system to study new spatial scales of human settlements outside major cities. By a empirical analysis of the county of Wangcheng's livable human settlements and a comprehensive evaluation of its livable environment level, the thesis discovers advantages and problems on livable human settlements in order to put forward the related policy proposal for reference. This thesis includes the following six chapters.Introduction is the first Chapter stating the research background, significance, content, method, and the technical route.Chapter Two is to summarize the assessment of index system, to build a new assessment system suitable for Wangcheng in this thesis, to put forward main methods of research including the objective evaluation method based on data and the subjective evaluation method based on the social survey, and finally to analyze and evaluate livable human settlements by using AHP.Chapter Three is concerned about the analysis and assessment of Wangcheng s livability, standardization processing of economic data, evaluating by AHP, and drawing the conclusion by analyzing the issues.Chapter Four is to propose some strategies for Wangcheng's livable human settlements including objectives and principles, proposal from the economic development, ecological optimization, infrastructure to speed up, cultural enrichment, the improvement of social security system, and the enhancement of management level.Chapter Five is the conclusion including the summary of this thesis, its innovations and shortcomings, and the research prospects in this aspect. |
