With the high speed development of Chinese economy, People's life is changing significantly, and the level and quality of people's life as the same. China government starts to pursuit the modern life after satisfying the basic life level, and most obvious change is the pace of modern life which is more and more rapidly. Today, people consider the time, speed, efficiency and the quality of service of the transport which is be selected when they travel. The high-speed train is required by speed, efficiency and quality service in China. Moreover, it can relieve the pressure which caused by travel's difficult that make China developing the Metro system more frequently. While the reform and opening up, China facing verity of social problems. One of the typical problems is the aging population. China has entered the aging society as early as 90s of last century, and problems are also becoming more and more obviously. This paper is trying to solve some problems by using the universal design which is the new design idea be originated in the United States 30 years ago. Universal Design has became a new trend and provide a more broad space for the industrial design. This paper described the universal design's concept, origin, character and basic principles, and analysed the contact and difference among universal design, adaptive design, ease use design and barrier-free design. This paper analysed the passengers and the facilities of high-speed train. At the end of the paper based on the universal design theory to guide the design of high-speed train internal facilities, Such as seat design, direction system design, passway design etc. At the same time this paper offer some useful design idea and referenced data.
