Speeding up the development of product and decreasing waste are practical and serve issues for enterprises. To win in the intense market compete, one must improve and enhance the reliability of new products first. However, as the developing of science and technology, many products intend to be multifunctional, automatic and systematic. How to enhance the reliability of product to a needed level in the shortest time and least finance is therefore a challenging problem.In reliability analysis, Failure Mode and Effects Criticality Analysis (FMECA) aims to find the potential weak aspects of design of products and then propose improvements to control or even eliminate the probability of failure and optimize the design, which will satisfy customers. As a Reliability Engineering report released by American Reliability Analysis Center (RAC) in 1995, the importance of FMECA has been recognized internationally, comparing with so many other tasks in Reliability Engineering. Nowadays, a set of scientific and entire analysis methods has been put forward in engineering practice and GJB450 General Reliability Program for Materiel Development and Production has also clearly pointed that FMECA is one of the technologies to find defects of design of products.According to the practice in Reliability Engineering, this paper summarizes the FMECA theory and methods and their application status. Careful investigations and researches into related software systems are also carried out. Based on these work and taking into account the features of FMECA, a set of software has been developed under the Object-oriented programming idea and database technology to implement FMECA conveniently. Ensuring the entirety and consistency of data first, we design the database of the software well to enhance the organization flexibility of data and reduce the data redundancy effectively, which make the data analysis flexible and convenient and make sure the software efficient run.The software is applicable to not only Reliability Analysis, but also Security Analysis. It supports most of the mainstream of FMECA standards. The computing can run fast, and operation is convenient and simple. Moreover, it has friendly user interface and nice scalability. User of the software can configure and set it according to his/her need and hobbies, which will make the implementation of FMECA more effective.
