At present, the city construction and development emerged a more common phenomenon that many residential area is adjacent to tall-building . This article research on the problems of in-out door air quality of residential area influenced by tall building, and the methods to solve these problems. Using computational fluid dynamics methods to simulate the airflow in-out door, gained the results of outdoor airflow field, building surface vertical press variations, and indoor airflow velocity field and formaldenyde concentration field distribution.Select a residential area of Chengdu adjacent to the tall-building as a study by CFD software, first simulate the outdoor wind environment, gained the results of velocity field and speed field, according to this two pictures, selected one residential building that it's airflow is worst. And then calculate the residential building surface vertical press variations, get the floors which press variations at two surface is minimal, then using this minimal press variation value as boundary condition to simulate the airflow efficiency of one flatlet belong to floors forenamed, and the results is not good. Airflow at upper left of abovestairs is almost not move, at low half of sub-bedroom is appeared swirl. Finally, lead high formaldenyde concentration at upper left of abovestairs and low half of sub-bedroom. For the purpose of improve the airflow efficiency, design three representative kinds of air distribution mode which are ceiling diffuser with ceiling outlet; ceiling diffuser with low side outlet; and low side diffuser with ceiling outlet. Based on analyse this three kinds of air distribution, put forward the air distribution of ceiling diffuser with ceiling outlet is the best way for the flatlet. In short, this study is valuable for residential area which adjacent to tall building to get better living environment.
