Compared with the ordinary residential area, the specificity of mining area was earlier building age, open suburb, monocultural distribution, insufficient greening, serious dust pollution and its poor wind environment. Taking Xuzhou mining area as an example, analysis of wind environment was made using the method of CFD simulation. Taking the effect of the planning and design, distribution of wall, plant cover on outdoor wind environment as the research object, the optimized design strategy was proposed.First of all, nvestigation of building features, layout and surrounding environment had been carried on Xuzhou mining residential area. Combined with the specific conditions of mining residential area and residents living habits, the problems existing in the mining area were summarized. In addition, Characteristics of Xuzhou climate and the wind environment of each season was analyzed to identify four wind environment of disadvantages. On the basis of summarizing the wind environment evaluation methods both domestic and abroad, the evaluation standard for wind environment was determined.Furthermore,Simplified 3D model was built according to the actual construction situation by selecting four typical mining residential regions of Xinhe,Zhangji and Pangzhuang, and simulation of the wind environment was carried out by using the software PHOENICS. According to the simulation results, its wind environment characteristics were summarized. The influence of residential buildings and its layout form was analyzed,and the quantization evaluation on the outdoor wind environment was conducted so as to figure out the situation and problems of the mining area wind environment.Finally, according to the wind environment evaluation index and the simulation results, optimized design strategy and method of the overall planning, the site selection, the wall building and the planting design was proposed。This paper, by using the efficiently, intuitive, digital characteristics of computer numerical simulation,taking Xuzhou mining residential area as example,conducted comparative analysis and summarized the results of simulation. Optimized strategy and design was put forward for the planning, construction and reform as basis and reference.
