Because the power of planetary gear reducer is output coaxially by several planetary gears, it reduces the load on shaft and bearings. Compared with other parallel shaft gear transmission system, it has the advantages of compact structure and big ratio of torque and the mass. The planetary gear transmission system is widely used in helicopters, cars, spacecraft, heavy machinery, navigation machinery and many other fields. At the same time, the traditional static design method can not meet the requirements of planetary gear reducer design, and the new dynamic design method is increasingly being recognized and adopted. This paper researched the above dynamic method from three aspects: reducer's three-dimensional modeling and virtual assembly, dynamic analysis and gear pairs' finite element analysis for contact problems. The follows are the main contents:Firstly, discuss the three-dimensional modeling method and virtual assembly process of SolidWorks.We introduced the two parametric modeling methods in SolidWorks and the feature-based modeling method aimed at non-standard parts and components is also mentioned. Then we introduced the process of virtual assembly, explained the two assembly programs: decompose the assembly by motor unit sub-assembly and the sub-assembly after assembled by sub-assembly.Secondly, we expounded the composition of multi-body system dynamics, discussed their research subjects and handling approach, analyzed the three steps to be followed in applications of dynamic theory to solve practical problems, then introduced the main functions, software features of dynamic analysis simulation software ADAMS and its application in relevant fields, the dynamic analysis modeling and solving method of planetary reducer is also introduced on this basis. Finally, Using the three- dimensional modeling of planetary reducer by virtual assembly and ADAMS to make the dynamic simulation and results analysis on one-grade planetary gear transmission system.Thirdly, expound the algorithm of finite element analysis for contact problems and the basic processes, summed up the general methods in reducing the computation and solving the convergence problem. The three-dimensional contact analysis of single tooth on center gear and planetary gear pair by ABAQUS wholly showed that the software analysis results are credible which very close to the theoretical results and vertified the rationality of the design.The research results in this paper have theoretical value and practical significance of its application in related fields by studying the key technologies on planetary gear reducer.
