As the important part of the Country "12th five-year plan" of new energy, the development of wind energy is of great hope in the coming five year. Following the development of wind energy industry in the next five years, China's wind power installation capacity is expected to reach 100 million kilowatts according to the related research. With the development of megawatt wind turbines,the loads exposed on modern wind power reducer will be more complex and significant at the same time. However, the traditional design of yaw drive reducer is usually based on static strength method. It improves the reliability by enhancing the admissible safety factor. But it has never adopted the contact analysis method to analyse the mutative loads of the transmission and the condition of force on gear. It's of great difficulty to improving the reliability and security of the wind power yaw drive reducer while lightweighting the wind power yaw drive reducer.Therefore, this paper is written based on key projects of Country "11th five-year plan" to support science and technology plan. The method used in this paper is the finite element numerical simulation method. Statics and dynamics contact analysis of the gear is adopted in the transmission part of the wind power yaw drive reducer which works in different conditions. It will be of great help to the lightweighting design of the yaw drive part. The main works and innovations in this paper are stated as the following:(1) The virtual assembling and simulation analysis are adopted to the the total assemble model of wind power yaw reducer. It shows that the simulation proves desirable. Also it provides an excellent assurance of an application of the finite software ANSYS to analyze the contact and fatigue condition.(2) According to the different torques for lock the the wind power yaw drive reducer , the stress of the gear is analysed in the simulation environment based the static contact mechanism of gear. It shows that the stress concentration of dedendum and the interference of addendum will happen in static peak output torques conditions. The relience of the gear strength can be assured by many meassures, such as tooth profile repair form.(3) By analysis calculate of the gear of wind power yaw reducer,we take contact analysis to the gear of wind power yaw reducer exposed under the cold condition and hot-showed condition. The research shows that it easily gives rise to the enlargement of the friction coefficient of gear in bad environment. It easily leads to the tooth surface crack even gear fatigue failure.The relience of the gear strength can be assured by many meassures, such as heat treatment and tooth surface treatment.(4) This paper analyzes the dynamic contact of wind power yaw reducer. The distribution of contact stresses and equivalent effective stresses can be gotten during the gear engagement. According to these results, it shows that the impulse force is maximal when the gears begin to mesh, and the impulse force becomes smooth as the velocity of the gear wheels gradually stabilizes.
