One important funtion of digital echo sounder is to store the mapping data,and playback or print the result with demand. Size of the file to store data will influence the run duration of the system.The dissertation targets on optimizing the display-control software of the existing digital image echo sounder.Based on the study of data compression,pseudo color and software defect,the data compression algorithm is integrated into the present display-control software,and file content,file format,way of data display and software configuration and driver are redesigned.In aspect of displaying the data with image, color model and the technology of pseudo color is studid, and file content and way of drawing are changed.In aspect of data store, three most famous coding algorithms-Huffman, Arithmetic and LZ77 coding are analysed and compared, and a suitable algorithm to use in the echo sounder system is find out. some mend of the algorithm is applied aiming at the echo sounder system. In aspect of software efficiency, to boost the run speed of the software, the driver program and the thread of the display-control software are reprogrammed.All the code is programmed with C/C++ language based on Visual C++6.0 development platform and the result of the test shows that the performance and efficiency of the software have been improved greatly after the software was redesigned.
