With social and economic development, the people living standard and the medical level constantly enhance. the average lifetime of the population extends universaliy and the society's population structure tends to the agingChina is the country with highly progressed rate of aging .While the senile population has been inreasing ,it has also brought many social problems, among which senior citizen's housing and cares for the aged is a quite prominent question. Under present economic leval and social concepts , the care for the aged will still be provided by the family primarily and the society cared for the aged auxiliary .China is entering the aging society in the 21 century gradually. Because the aging undertakings of China are on the beginning, senior citizen's environment question is extremely stern. It has the positive significance universally for the realization of support of the old people,resident of the old people,medicare of the old people,entertainment of the old people,study of the old people, career of the old people to build the old people's residential environmental system that is suitable for our country.Bathes in the daily life is a very common and important matter. No matter what form the shower, it has profit to senior citizen's health.This paper analyzes the situation of the senile population in china, chooses the toilet environment of the old people in Chinese city as the research object. It is proposed to connect the real requirement of old people and toilet. In dissertation, author summarizes the history,actuality and trend of the toilet and bath on the axis of time and puts forward the principles of interior design of bathroom by analyzing the behavior habit and functional need of aged people as using the basic theory of somatology,gerontics,other related theory and research works foreign research as references. The author researches the quantitive standard of the house toilet environment that are suitable for the old people to endeavour to construct practical, secure, healthy, non-barrier toilet environment.Finally the paper aims at the the question of senior citizen bathroom to propose reasonable and feasible design proposal.
