With the increasing complexity of modern electric network, the security and stability during power system's operating are required higher and more strictly. The microcomputer protection is a important means to keep power system safe and stable. With extensive application of digital signal processor(DSP) technology,the multifunctional and intelligentized relay protection device based on the advanced hardware and the embedded real-time operating system will become the main developing direction of relay protection for power system. Based on broadly collecting the documents about uC/OS-II and DSP TMS320VC5402,this paper analyses the existing condition of microcomputer protection and generalizes its demerits,then brings up new microprocessor relay protection hardware and software platform's project and design based DSP and embedded RTOS.The whole system is made up of the unit for sampling ,the unit for controlling, switch-in /switch-out module and the unit for displaying and communicating, uses complex and programmable logic device (CPLD) instead of traditional and separate logic device to improve the anti-jamming capability and reliability of the system. The new device that uses Ethernet and combines measurement with and network shows the modern design concept, which fills with the need of intelligence and information of device. In comparison with existing relay protection algorithm and according to the characteristics of power system, Fourier algorithm is employed,which has good precision and real-time performance. This paper analyzes the software design and the partition and design for module of protection based on uC/OS-II in detail, and how to create tasks is also discussed,because of adopting software modularity, the structure of software design is in focus. This paper analyzes uC/OS-II kernel principle and performance in details and then transplants it to DSP TMS320VC5402 board by writing some hardware-associated code.The experiment results shows that this device has accurate measurement,fast response, corret communication,and its performance qualifies the designed requests.
