The Research On Signal Generator Based On DSP For Multi-Functional Microprocessor Relay Protection Experiments Training System

By reason of the actuality that microprocessor relay protection technology and integrated automatization technology have been widely applied, along with the fact that relay protection experiments system devices used in the power system departments and electrical engineering colleges are unwieldy and outdated in China, the innovative study item, named as "Multi-Functional Microprocessor Relay Protection and Transformer Substation Integrated Automatization Experiments Training System", has been declared by Electrical and Information Engineering College, Hunan University, and gained stacks. The Signal Generator, which is the main body of this paper, is one of important parts in this item.The signal generator is designed specially for Multi-Functional Microprocessor Relay Protection and Transformer Substation Integrated Automatization Experiments Training System. Under the control of PC, the output current and voltage signal of its is flexible. That meets the signal demands of relay protection experiments. In this paper, the signal generator's structures, principles and functions are studied. Its software and hardware also be designed.On the base of the reference of a great deal documents domestic and overseas, It is studied deeply that the principles and functions of each hardware modules. A set of power amplification circuits including and their protective circuits designs are brought forward, the measures to anti-jamming and protections for mis-operation are added in, all of which could improve the signal generator's stabilities and reliabilities. It is analyzed that the whole software designs and methods of signal generator. The software compiled by means of modularization is clear in structure, and is easy to debugging. Besides, an effective communication protocol between superior PC and sub-signal generator is designed, which made the signal generator's function in transient signal generating into realization. By the way, it is introduced in this paper about the superior experiments training system software.On the base of accomplishment of hardware and software design, a sample has been made and tested. Test result shows that signal generator's performances comfort the standard, and meet the demand of experiments training system.The signal generator has the characteristics of high resolution, small buck, light weight, and low cost, and it can work in with the Experiment Training System, accomplish decades of microprocessor relay protection experiments and transformer substation integrated automatization experiments under the control of one superior PC. Till now, there is no such kind of system be punished or come out in China. The system is innovative and available.
