After the 21st century, the problem of sustainable development related to Architecture is argued continuously as a hot spot in the world. The geographical position is special, the natural condition is stern, and the ecosystem is destried easily; they are all the characteristics of the winter cities in our countries. Loss in materials and energies of urban construction is increased ,by long and cold winter. Therefore, the sustainable domicile development in the winter cities makes a vital important sense. Although in the winter cities of our countries. we already have some achievements on building energy conservation, the distance is also away from our target. Under the circumstances, the sustainable domicile development in the winter cities requires supports of theories urgently, it is indispensable that establish a suit of base program in favor of designing to the sustainable domicile in the winter cities.The first chapter of this thesis introduces the source and background of this problem., summarizes the research actuality inland and overseas; advances the primary problems that consist in sustainable development of the domiciles in winter cities, and establishs the research aim.
