DF11 Diesel Locomotive, with large numbers and the wider use of , is the primary type whose velocity is enhanced in China. The electric-drive system is an important component of the locomotive, which completes the conversion and transfer of energy to achieve the ideal locomotive traction performance, and ensure safe and reliable operation of locomotive. In order to master the operating principle of locomotive circuits for locomotive attendants and maintenance personnel more clearly and conveniently, the simulative and teaching system of the DF11 diesel locomotive electric-drive equipment is developed.This paper first introduced the topic background and the locomotive electric-drive and teaching system's status and development needs. By analyzing of the DF11 diesel electric-drive system,we get the logical structure of the system's simplified circuits, and complete the design of the simulative and teaching system. The paper describes the methods how to design the special control units for locomotive circuits with Visual C++ and the way how to simulate the operation and malfunction of locomotive circuits with the special control units. The simulation computer simulates the locomotive circuits's process dynamically according to the locomotive circuitry principle. The circuits of the locomotive electric-drive and malfunction simulate system has the following functions: zooming in/out and exchanging the circuit by the control information. These functions can be very good used for teaching.The paper also does a preliminary study on the malfunction's locating function of this simulative and teaching system. By changing the electric-drive equipment's electrical system into a digital circuit, the method on digital circuit's malfunction diagnosis can be used and a theoretical study is also done for the design of a malfunction locating online system.
