At present, diesel locomotive is playing important role in the Chinese railway transport system, whose equipment is the cole of the locomotive because it provides power for the whole locomotive and directly controls the all locomotive's running and illuminating and heating accessories. At the same time, the electric-drive equipment is the part that is most complex, most difficult to master and most possible to be broken-down.In order to master the operating principle of loco circuits for loco attendants and maintenance personnel more clearly and conveniently. The paper describes the methods how to design the special control units for locomotive circuit with Visual C++ and the way how to simulate the operation and malfunction of locomotive circuits with the special control units. With the serial communication technology, the control computer can send out each kind of operating command to the simulation computer, the simulation computer also can set malfunctions on electricity components, and feed back the broken-down information to the control computer. When the control computer simulates the driver to control the locomotive and send out the control commands to the simulation computer, the simulation computer simulates the locomotive circuit process dynamically according to the locomotive circuitry principle. The circuit of the locomotive electric-drive and malfunction simulate system has the following functions: zooming in/out, moving or exchanging the circuit by the control information. These functions can be very good used for teaching. The running results obtained from debugging repeated prove that the real-time instruction system of the DF4D diesel locomotive's electric-drive equipment is successful.
