Sustainable Development thought causes people to carefully rethink the relationship between person and the nature, the human dwelling environment and the natural environment. The"sustainable site"concept is the result of introducing Sustainable Development thought to the site domain."Sustainable site"is still one kind of artificial environment, and is the humanity construction result; Simultaneously, it exists in the natural ecological environment, is one part of the nature. The sustainable development of site is relates with its inside and outside natural ecological environment, the load to the environment, the humanity site design in together.The design work is one way to realizes sustainable site. Comparing with general site, the design for sustainable site pays more attention to the relationship between site, human and the environment, and the influence of the site future to the person and the environment, its content will be more richer. The sustainable site design work emphasis the respect to the environment but not the transformation, and passes through the site choice, site analysis, site protection and design link and so on. The core work is in the condition of does not destroy or under the as far as possible few destructions natural environment, processing base environment and organization each site content in science, create a more healthier, more in order, and full of vitality environment.This article carries on the summary and the research to the sustainable site in the aspect of natural environment, social environment, artificial environment, design methods and so on. It discusses the sustainable site and its design content synthetically and systematically, and unifies the actual case to examine the content and the characteristic which the sustainable location should have. Facing the domestic construction situation, I hoped this article research can enhance the understanding of architect with the importance and urgency of sustainable site, just as reference for the design of sustainable site.
