A Study On The Design Of Wuhan Modern Bank Building

Wuhan's modern bank buildings are an important part of Wuhan's modern historical architecture. They provided the material basis for the initial construction of Wuhan City. As a non-renewable historical and cultural heritage, they have a very important position in the Chinese modern architectural history. This paper has made an in-depth study of Wuhan's modern bank buildings from the perspective of architectural design, so we can get a comprehensive understanding from the view of architecture.This paper consists of five parts:Part I has described the background, object, purpose, significance and method of the study, as well as the current study status of Wuhan's modern buildings and modern bank buildings.Part II has utilized the existing historical documents and research materials to describe the whole evolution process of Wuhan's modern bank buildings, including their emergence, prosperity and maturity. It has also summarized the distribution of modern bank buildings and introduced the current status of Wuhan's modern bank buildings.Part III has made an analysis of Wuhan's modern bank buildings in architectural features. The analysis is based on the on-site visit and mapping data in combination with architectural literatures and includes functional analysis, layout, modeling styles, construction details and construction technology, etc.Part IV has analyzed four banks in details, thus highlighted the features of Wuhan's modern bank buildings further.The last part has summarized the artistic achievements of Wuhan's modern bank buildings through the analysis of the above information. It has clarified the value of Wuhan's modern bank buildings from the views of technology, culture and landscape, and pointed out the practical significance of protecting and renovating the modern bank buildings.Open cities like Shanghai and Tianjin are referenced in this paper so as to make a horizontal comparison. In addition, this paper has also discussed Wuhan's modern financial buildings from the view of the whole world. It has clarified the impact of western architectural culture on Wuhan's modern financial buildings (especially bank buildings), and made a throughout analysis of Wuhan's modern bank buildings from the perspective of architectural design.
