Research On Improving Living Environment Of The Modern Housing In The Former Hankou's Concession District

With city's development and people's living style's changing, the living environment of modern housing in former Hankou concession can't meet people's need, and rebuilding of modern housing has become major part of Wuhan city. While rebuilding these housing has been facing some problems, especially today, as the appearance of the whole city is changing quickly, parts of the special style of modern housing are ruined; at the same time, lots of the former dwellers of these areas have to move to places where are faraway from the city, and the living atmosphere of the city center is changing quickly. How to deal with the problems in improving living environment, how to protect Wuhan's historic culture and the dwellers' rights has become a task can't be avoided or delayed.This study is based on protecting the buildings' special style and weak dwelling population's right. And it considers the former dwellers of Hankou as the aim .Through enough investigation, it analysed the courses of the problems of the modern living environment. And it uses knowledge of many subjects such as urban planning ,society ,architecture,economy,urban design and so on , it also learns lots of practical experience from both abroad and at home. And it tries to find out the way to improve the living environment of modern housing in former concession through integrated research.
