Handan is a city in the sourth of Hebei province , which made fast progress recently. However a lot of problems are discovered with the rapid growth of Handan's urban space. In order to provide assistance for the development of city and the amendment of the mster planning in Handan, this thesis analyzes the evolution of urban spatial structure.In this paper, the following contents are involved:Firstly, the relevant theories of international and domestic urban spatial development are studied. The author discusses the models, the dynamical mechanism and the regularity of urban spatial structure.Secondly, From the historic course develops of Handan,we may see, Handan took the region politics cultural center has the glorious history. The existing Handan city space pattern is gradually develops in the historical foundation. Handan is the key city in south Hebei Province, it faced with the duty that makes the boundariesregion key city among the Shanxi, Shandong, Hebei and Henan provinces four provinces.It is in the process which a function structurere forming and the spatial structure transforms at present. Its space develops has the very big variability,and its space expanded is still at the proliferation stage.the author analyzes the current advantages and disadvantages which Handan is facing. Then it questions the evolution of Handan's internal and external spatial structure, and summarizes the factors which influent the spatial structure.Lastly, Take this as the theory frame, the author carries on the analysis to the Handan host city city space developmentbasic condition, then discusses in the Handan host city, exterior spatial structureevolution and the development advancement, the mechanism and the rule.Therefor the author proposed the Handan host city space development should follow the basic principle and carries on the analysis to its spatial expansionintensity driving force.Using level analytic method modelling, thus has carried on theforecast to its future 5 years space expansion intensity.
