Economically developed regions are important geographical spaces for realizing the economic growth of the country and regions, and are the main carriers of urbanization. The rapid development manifested in the geographical space is the constant expansion of urban space. In this process, the demand for land is strong and the contradiction between people and land is sharp.Outstanding features, which also put enormous pressure on ecological security and food security, constraining its sustainable development. In the past, studies on the expansion of urban space in developed regions focused more on megalopolises, capital cities, and special types of cities, while less attention was paid to local central cities with a large number of distribution.Due to location conditions, institutional differences, and their own development foundations, etc.,There are certain differences in the economic development process between regional core cities and local central cities, and the characteristics of urban spatial expansion are not all the same.In order to deepen the scientific and comprehensive understanding of the urban space expansion process and explore the urban development paths of intensive land use, economic and efficient development, and ecologically appropriate and beautiful development in economically developed areas,it is necessary to expand the spatial characteristics and driving forces of local central cities in economically developed regions.Conduct in-depth studies. This paper takes Taizhou as a typical representative and studies the spatial expansion and driving forces of local central cities in developed regions.Firstly,we obtained the Landsat satellite series image data of 1996,2001,2006,2011 and 2016 years, and used ENVI5.1 and ArcGIS10.3 software to interpret and extract the built-up area of different time periods;secondly,we use a series of measurement methods to The scale, speed, intensity, rationality, spatial differentiation, morphology, and patterns were used to measure and analyze the process of expansion. Finally,SPSS 19.0 software was used to conduct quantitative analysis of social and economic drivers, and the society was integrated with its own characteristics. The qualitative analysis of the driving factors of economic factors, policy elements, and natural environment factors studied the driving factors of urban spatial expansion. The main conclusions are as follows:(1)The spatial expansion of local central cities in economically developed regions is characterized by rapidity and strength in a short period of time.Due to the high level of overall economic development of the local central cities where the economically developed areas are located, the core cities and key cities in the region are strongly driven by radiation. When the conditions for development are met, opportunities for development come along, driven by industrial transfer and industrial division of labor,Economic development has been accelerating, and the demand for land in the short term has been very strong. It shows the characteristics of rapid expansion and high intensity, which is different from the spatial expansion of other types of cities.(2)The selection of industrial types of local central cities in economically developed areas has a significant impact on the expansion model and the degree of coordination between land expansion and population growth and economic development. For instance,Taizhou’s development and opening degree is relatively late relative to the core area of the Yangtze River Delta. It has no advantage in attracting investment relative to the core cities. It can only guarantee the development of the industry through large-scale land investment, but it is not strong enough to attract employment.Occurrence of land urbanization is faster than population urbanization.Because of its superior location, the core cities are continuously optimized and upgraded, and their employment ability is continuously enhanced. It is not easy to use the problem of long-term imbalance of population.(3)Administrative division and urban planning are important means to guide the spatial expansion of local central cities in economically developed areas.Although the adjustment of administrative divisions and urban planning methods are generally applied by all levels of government to guide and regulate the spatial expansion of urban space, due to the significant changes in the spatial structure and shape of urban space in the short-term urban centers in economically developed areas, there is insufficient space when there is insufficient development space. The restrictive role of economic development is very significant;and when the development space is relatively abundant,it is manifested as spatial expansion "four-face attack" and "blossom everywhere".Therefore, the use of the above means is more necessary than other types of cities. |
