Nowadays, the development of industry has come into the time of high-tech, people gradually pay attention to the sustainable development, the harmonious relation between nature and human. Information has been applied to all levels of human life, the arrival of the information age makes design in the times of re-structure language. Designing a product is designing a language.Produced an ideal product is involved the design semiotics how to applied perfectly into a product, that is to say, how to manage the semiotics to create product of satisfying with human's feelings and humanness is a problem which Modern industrial designers must consider.Semiotics applied to product design, and then to have the product design semiotics. However, the essence of product design semiotics is just in the external shape design to reveal or imply the internal structure, so that product function is self-evident, and product has a simple man-machine interface and easy to understand, consequently, points out the product how to work, tells users how to operate it, at the same time, through the form design of the more clear visual image and more symbolic significance to communicate more cultural connotation to users, realize the harmonious and unity among the human, machine and environment, indicate profoundly that design depends on culture and exploits culture. The interdependent and gradual process makes people's life more humanistic and more personal.As a crystal of altitudinal material civilization and spiritual civilization in today's human society, tourist car agglomerates human's most advanced technology and the most consummate craftwork, carries human's most wonderful dream and most broiling ardour. The automobile industry has developed into one of the largest domains in the world, crossing country, acrossing industries and acrossing the culture. It is an indispensable chapter in modern society. Well then, tourist car industry plays an important role and has significant meaning at the same time in modern society. Coming into the twenty-first century century, tourism of the world takes on flourishing vision. The tourism of our country is also developing rapidly. As a vehicle of ride instead of walk in traveling, with its reliable, comfortable, safe and convenient performance, it is taking on the powerful market demand, and its market potential and market prospect are wide in general. However, at present, although our country mastered the advanced production technology of tourist car, the research about the tourist car's modeling is little, the theory about this is more less.The cognition and the comprehend instance about tourist car of our country above inspire that I have a motivation to research tourist car's modeling. This thesis begins from the perspective of design semiotics, combines the characteristic of tourist car's modeling, analyzes and researches profoundly a series of issues about the process of its symbol transmitting, the cultural values of its symbol and the semantic of its modeling symbol. It is generally divided into the following sections to be discussed:The first part (the first chapter) ,is to discuss the study background, purpose, sense and method of this problem, primarily understand and semiotics and tourist car.The second part (the second chapter), is to interpret the semiotics, the process and semantic of symbol transmitting, also analyzes and researches all elements of symbol. Through comprehend and summarize the basic principles of semiotics and its application more comprehensively, semiotics embeds gradually into product design, which constructs a bridge between the theory of design semiotics and product form design. That is, modeling elements of product design (form, color, texture) are regarded as symbols of product design. It profoundly discusses the applied principles and methods of semiotics in product design.The third part (from the third chapter to the forth chapter) , after master the concept of semiotics, the process and the semantic of symbol transmitting, and then surveys and analyzes the character and modeling characteristic of tourist car again, decompounds and analyzes the modeling structure of its parts, consequently, understands intensively tourist car. Researching tourist car's character and modeling characteristic can imply the back content of research, and have a dependable gist.The forth part (from the fifth chapter to the seventh chapter) is to research the application of semiotics in the modeling of tourist car. In this part, I have analyzed the cultural values of tourist car, the process, condition, content and the needed context and media of modeling symbol transmitting, also study the symbol semantic rules which are followed in modeling design of tourist car. It summarizes that the modeling symbols of tourist car form a integrated system which is divided into four parts, they are form symbol system, texture symbol system, color symbol system and human-machine interface symbol system, at the same time, analyzes the semantic of all the symbol systems and Human-Machine Engineering of tourist car's modeling which is based on design semiotics. The content of this part can make us understand comprehensively and specifically the structure of tourist car's modeling symbols. It realizes that the theory of design semiotics integrates with the design practice.The fifth part (the eighth chapter) is the prospect of tourist car's modeling design, which is based on design semiotics and in conditions of high science and technology, puts forward some modeling design ideas which are adapted to the background of times.In a word, this thesis still looks on people as the centre and is based on design semiotics to specifically discuss and study tourist car's modeling. Its purpose is to make people understand deeply the structure principle of tourist car's modeling symbols and the cultural values included when people are designing, producing and using products. I hope that this thesis is helpful for tourist car's modeling design.
