The Spatial Design Research Of Art Museum Designed By I. M. Pei

Taking time as the research line, taking crucial factoris of space as research object, this article has made the spatial analysis and the appraisal to 12 art museum that designed by I. M. Pei from three aspects which are urban environment, building structure and the details of decoration. Facing social influence and economic influence of space shape, facing the marvellous quantity of art museum work, facing strange feeling of public to the space of construction, this article is being for the purpose of analyzing the space.This article defines the urban environment as surrounds space of the building, which is the space partially defined by this building, analyzes the urban environment and the spatial relations, and summarizes the three solutions ways of I. M. Pei's art museum which are the reasonable dialogue of environment, the solution of facing the environment challenge and the space and time of traditional environment.With the modernism architectural design idea, this article analyzes the characteristic of buliding structure, and summarizes the exterior characteristic of art museum as the character of sculpture and geometry, concludes the internal spatial integrant part as the circular stairs, the balcony, the over-bridge and the quadrangle.From the spatial characteristic factors, the article analyzes decoration details, deduces the permanent decoration details of I. M. Pei's art museum which are the light environment, the natural element of landscape, the sculpture and the drawing in interior.
