The Design Of Yunyang Museum Building Spatial Scale System

Scale is one of the elements of architectural beauty. Modern architecture is necessary to meet the functional use of spaces, but also to meet people’s spiritual pursuit of the formal beauty, in the design process to grasp the scales of the architectural space has been one of the architects concern point. Theoretical basis for architecture spatial scales required, not only category architecture style, single buildings as well. Building from design to construction also need to establish and implement an accurate spatial scales system.Scale theory of traditional Chinese architecture has a strict hierarchy of cal-fen system and dou-kou system, and expanded several Building modulus. Western architectural theory has a similar system such as modulus. Scale theory of traditional Chinese architecture is based on a variable modulus to form the flexible architecture scales building system. Inspired by this, the author would like to learn from the analysis of the actual scales in the the project,Yunyang museum. To learn how to take advantage of scales modulus to control the various levels architecture space scales from details to the whole building. The ultimate aim is to summarize the regularity of design techniques, which can be used in the design of spatial scales in the similar buildings.In this paper, based on the actual project Yunyang museums, the author summarize Yunyang museum building spatial scales system from three-level scales such as environment,construction, detail etc. The methods are visual line analysis, mesh analysis, illustrated graphically. From the environment, construction, detail-level analysis illustrates the relationship between scales of Yunyang museum space with three chapters. Presents a more comprehensive course of construction and design process and the results of Yunyang architecture space design museum building spatial scales system.The conclusion can be regarded as a system analysis in modern architectural practice in the design of single builading spatial scales, and continuation of the traditional Chinese concept of scales.Proved that modern architecture can still be controled by transformed modulus, using to design the scales from layout to detail of architectural.
