The subject is established according to 12V280ZJ type of engine manufactured by DLOCO. It is important part of the project that strengthen northeast industrial base of the policy set by State Department, It's important scientific research project developed by DLOCO.The article gives the introducion that current machining conditions of crankshaft used in the large type of engine in our railway locomative. It tells us something about the forging crankshaft that being used a great deal in 16V240ZJ type of engine and studied in 12V280ZJ type of engine ,such as structure,form of blanket,conventional technical process,machining the crankshaft journey,dynamic balance ,surface hardening,checking measure -ments,form of disabled,ways of repairing and so on.It keep machining precision of crankshaft by arranging technology scientific, choosing the equipments and fixtures and controlling the distortion.It increase the efficiency of rough machining by improving conventional rough maching. technology and using the advanced Millturn CNC.In order to overcome flexibility in the dynamic balance,we take some ways to reduce influences of flexibility,we improve precision of frequently positioning and keep precision of frequently checking by taking multi-points supports. The method is a innovative point.It added a historical record through trial-manufacture the forging crankshaft in DLOCO. We mastered some technology such as machining ,quenching and tempering ,nitriding and dynamic balance test etc. These improve greatly efficiency and form a set of technology and equipments for machining the forging crankshaft.The level of maching the forging crankshaft in DLOCO is as advanced as country's through this research.The emphases of the article:1. Arranging technology scientific, chosing the equipments and fixtures and controlling the distortion to keep keep machining precision of crankshaft .2. Choosing reasonable dynamic balance technology,especially solving frequently checking problems existed in present conventional technology .3. Improving the efficiency of rough machining .
