The dwelling has close relationship with climate, it has to adapt to the climate environment, andhas the ability to change the microclimate and create a better one for mankind to live moreconveniently and more comfortable. The house of the fisherman who lives in the island of the southof Liaoning province lies in the cold region of the northem in our country. In these districtsdemonstrate typical characteristic of continental climate: a long cold winter, monsoon climate, rainin hot season. Except the long and unbearable winter, frequently rains all year long and moistenvironment are heavy characteristic of island region too. We have more intuitionistic and morerational understanding of local vernacular architecture through the investigation and research on thespot.The thesis excavates the climatized and the natural ecology design method from the traditionaldwellings. The method will be melted into the design of the modem building of the fisherman.Taking the vernacular architecture of the fisherman in the islands of south Liaoning province as theresearch object, the goal is for summarize the compatible design of the vernacular building with theconsummation.The first chapter has pointed out the present situation and the question about the vernaculararchitecture of the islands of south Liaoning province, and drawn out the sustainable developmentthought.
