Metro is an infrastructure which has a characteristic of high investment, technology-intensive, cross-department, combination of work, and long construction cycle. Now, many cities use different technical and manufacture standards in the scope of establishment of construction scale, design grade, and the usage of equipment and materials. It is statistical that the works in different phase have different influence on the cost: investment and decision-making phase accounts for 75%-90%, design phase is about 35%-75%, construction phase approximates 5%-35%, and final balance accounts for 0-5%. The main factor which influences the cost of metro is in the prophase of the construction and design. Standard is the basis in those phases, therefore, it is quite important to study the influence of construction standards on metro cost.In this paper, the influence of construction standards on metro cost is analyzed from two main aspects: construction standard and metro cost. The main contents are as follows:1. The metro actuality and the composing of the metro investment in our country and foreign countries.2. Giving some suggestion on metro standards and metro standard system.3. Analyzing the investment composing of Beijing 4,5,10 metro lines.4. The influence of the passenger forecast standards on metro cost.5. The influence of the building scale on metro cost from the aspect of architectural design.6. Analyzing the standards used in construction from construction design aspect. It is concluded that standards of structural design and the standards used in the prophase phases have dominant influence on cost. Standards should be established on the station scale of metro station, the selection of space between two stations, and the reasonable construction methods.
