Research Of CAD System For Worm Cam Mechanism

Worm cam mechanism is a kind of perfect precise intermittent mechanism which is broadly applied in electron producing devices and light-industry devices.At present,the researches on the mechanism mainly focus on its own theory but not on the CAD system.So it can advance the design of this mechanism to develop a CAD system by combining the parametric character modeling technology with the design of worm cam mechanism.The CAD system this thesis builds is a computer aided design system which adopts the theory and experience about the worm cam mechanism designing, calculating and analyzing combining with the technology of software designing,3-D parametric designing and pro/TOOLKIT program designing.The system is supported by Pro/Engineer and uses Visual C++ as developing language.What this thesis researches are as follows: After analyzing the forces of this mechanism, the thesis checks the strength and makes optimization.On the basis of researching several rules of curve movement of worm cam, the thesis compares them and selects the appropriate one.then the thesis analyzes and calculates the precision of the mechanism.After deciding the design sequence and classifing the parameters of the mechanism ,the thesis builds 3-dimension parametric models of several main parts and builds library of standard parts,then assembles the parts.At last,the thesis realizes the automatic parametric design of worm cam mechanism based on Pro/TOOLKIT program designing technology and parametric program designing technology.The CAD system this thesis builds can fully carry out the design of this mechanism including precision design,force anlysis and strength check and part parametric design.This CAD system can greatly improve the design efficiency and quality.
