With the reform and open to the world, the most of cities in China are developing rapidly. The landscape construction of the city obtained great accomplishment. People attach importance to the regeneration of the historic architecture. At the same time, the level of landscape architecture design improves continuously. The construction of historic sites gets into a new stage. In the course of city modernization, the developed country has pay attention to the historic patrimony. It will supply the valuable experience for us.At present, there are lots of historic architectures with good function. Although some of them are very old, they record the development of the area. They also reflect a kind of mode of life and culture characteristic. We should take care of this environment. We need to make conservation and renovation whole. We also need to continue the historic connection through modern scientific technology and idea. This kind of discussion just starts in China. We should make great effort in researching and exploration. It will greatly improve the modern construction and development in our country.In this paper, the author make the visual angle of landscape architecture as the staring point and pay attention to mix different subject into the writing such as plan, architecture and landscaping. There are three major parts in this paper:Chapter 1: The author discusses the relationship between conservation of historic patrimony and regeneration of historic sites. The author thinks that conservation and regeneration will greatly improve the city development. Chapter 2: The author discusses the construction progress of historic and culture environment in the Occident. We should study and summarize the advanced experience and integrate the stage of our country in order to call the conservation realization of people widely.Chapter 3: This chapter is the kernel of the paper. It includes the design thinking about historic sites. The Author analyzes the successful examples from different angles. In the light of the attribution of historic sites, the author conclude that three points (function, form and space) should be pay attention to in the design thinking. The author thinks that it is important to reinforce and persist in the cooperation of different specialized subject in all of the projects.
